This review explores recent nutritional approaches in the risk reduction and management of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). It covers factors that affect the risk of developing AD, including compromised nutritional status, altered nutrient uptake and metabolism and nutrient requirements for synapse formation. Additionally, the study covers research about nutritional interventions in patients with AD, including studies with single nutrients versus a specific nutrient combination.
