On February 4th, the World Cancer Day takes place. This global event aims to “save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness and education about the disease, pressing governments and individuals across the world to take action.” – World Cancer Day website. At Danone Research & Innovation, we study the role nutrition plays in diseases including cancer. Disease-related malnutrition occurs in patients who cannot reach their dietary needs due to a decrease in food intake or an increase in nutritional needs. Malnutrition is frequent and progressive but can be reversible if the nutritional care is early and adapted to the patients. We believe that raising awareness and education about the disease can make a worldwide impact for millions of patients, families, friends, carers and healthcare professionals.
