Higher survival rate for hospitalized older people with greater muscle mass and without malnutrition

This observational study showed that older people admitted to the hospital had a better survival when they had a larger muscle mass and were not malnourished at admission. A positive association was observed between measures of muscle strength and functional performance at hospital admission and living independently at 3 months after hospital discharge.
