Our innovation process starts from understanding the user needs

The mission of our User eXperience team is to inspire & co-design superior experiences and life-serving innovations, for all users of our products; infants, young children, adolescents, adults, patients suffering from various diseases and conditions, HCPs and carers.

It all starts with a deep understanding from the early stages of our innovation process of their behaviours, needs, and product usage by observing them in their real life, listening deeply and identifying the differences between what they say and really do. These insights, together with our latest scientific knowledge and technological expertise, are embedded into our innovation process, guiding each stage of product and packaging development.

In Paris-Saclay we have a Social Kitchen, a place where we can be inspired by our users: talking and listening to them, as well as observing their usages and behaviours in context. A full set of technical and digital means are available to get this deeper understanding of the user needs: understanding of the user journey, micro-observation of their specific gestures, the possibility to follow the “live” remotely, high quality audio diffusion, etc.

Thanks to these users insights, we support the development of innovations that meet the pleasure, nutritional and sustainability needs of the people who use our products throughout the lifespan. Working closely with all of our product users (adults, young children, patients, HCPs, carers) helps us understanding and design pleasurable experiences that meet their needs, either on taste, product usage, safety, nutrition and impact on the planet.
