This paper examines the need for fibre in enteral formulae for older children (7 to 12 years) to contain fibre. Based on the double-blind, randomised crossover study results, the authors conclude that seeing a generally low fibre intake in the population concerned and an absence of adverse effects, confirms that the use of an enteral formula containing fibre should be considered for the majority of these paediatric patients.
