This double‑blind, randomised and controlled trial explored whether more elevated protein and energy intake can promote anabolism in critically ill infants. The paper concludes that higher protein and energy intake can support anabolism in these infants immediately after hospital admission, and thus is preferred in comparison to standard intake levels.
